Classic Potato Pancakes



  • 4 large potatoes
  • 1 medium Onion
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • To taste Salt
  • 1/2 tsp crushed pepper
  • 3 tbsp Oil

Cooking Instructions

  • Step 1
  • Firstly peel the potatoes and onion and cut them into small cube. Then grind them into a fine puree. Strain the excess water. Then in a mixing bowl take the strained puree add everything except oil and mix generously.
  • Step 2
  • Heat oil in a tava or frying pan and add a spoonful of potato mixture, spreading it slightly. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, until the pancakes are crispy and golden brown.Place the pancakes on a paper towel, to absorb the excess oil.
  • Step 3
  • Serve hot with your favourite sauce.
