Classic scones recipe



  1. 2 cups selfraising flour
  2. 1/4 tsp salt
  3. 1 t baking powder
  4. 85 g butter, cubed
  5. 3/4 c milk
  6. 1 tsp vanilla
  7. 1 squeeze lemon juice
  8. 1 beaten egg for glaze
  9. 200 g raisin

Cooking Instructions

  1. Step 1Preheat the oven 220C
  2. Step 2Heat the milk for 30 second in the microwave, and add vanilla, lemon juice. set aside
  3. Step 3Mix flour, salt, baking powder
  4. Step 4Use your finger or put in the mixer butter and flour together. Work on it until a bit crumbly and well combine
  5. Step 5Add wet ingredient slowly, mix it until well combine. Do not over mix or over work on the dough because the scone will be hard after you bake it
  6. Step 6With the rolling pin roll it 1 inch and cut with round cutter.
  7. Step 7Brush with egg wash on top of the scones and bake for 10 minutes.
  8. Step 8Serve this with fresh jam and whipped cream
